The Town of Pleasant View has adopted the 2009 International Codes for building safety and fire prevention. The International Building Code (IBC) is a model building codes developed by the International Code Council (ICC). Duties of the Building Commissioner:

• Issue all building, mechanical, plumbing, permits and make and maintain records of them.
• Issue all Certificates of Occupancy and make and maintain records of them.
• Receive, review, file and forward to the Planning Commission all materials on which they are required to act upon.
• Issue and renew, where applicable, all Temporary Use permits and make and maintain records of them.
• Receive, review, file and forward to the Board of Zoning Appeals all applications for variances, special exceptions or other matters on which the Board is required to act upon.
• Conduct inspections as required by Code and other inspections as are necessary to insure compliance with the Zoning Ordinance.
