Town of Pleasant View Buildings and Codes

The Town of Pleasant View has adopted the 2009 International Codes for building safety and fire prevention. The International Building Code (IBC) is a model building codes developed by the International Code Council (ICC). It has been adopted throughout most of the United States and is for both residential and commercial buildings. Click here to visit the ICC website for more information.

Duties of the Building Commissioner:

  • Issue all building, mechanical, plumbing, permits and make and maintain records of them.
  • Issue all Certificates of Occupancy and make and maintain records of them.
  • Receive, review, file and forward to the Planning Commission all materials on which they are required to act upon.
  • Issue and renew, where applicable, all Temporary Use permits and make and maintain records of them.
  • Receive, review, file and forward to the Board of Zoning Appeals all applications for variances, special exceptions or other matters on which the Board is required to act upon.
  • Conduct inspections as required by Code and other inspections as are necessary to insure compliance with the Zoning Ordinance.
